Is Supersonic Transportation in the Future?
YClass is a FlyerTalk member who laments never being a passenger on Concorde when it was actively flying.
Speculation and wishes fuel the discussion in the Concorde 2.0 thread for a new method of supersonic transportation to replace the now-defunct Concorde aircraft, which many FlyerTalk members agree was an engineering marvel, as well as what it will take in terms of finances, effort and technology for a new method of supersonic aircraft to become a reality and come to fruition.

The things you do for miles
It's a sickness. But just in case you don't want to be cured (who does?), here are some more ideas.
Posted by Kiwi Flyer at 9:48 PM
Miles & More overdraft
An FTer has received a letter about repaying their mileage overdraft and comes to FT for advice. It is an unusual case since most FFPs do not allow (significant) mileage overdrafts.

Need to Plug In? Become a Furniture Mover!
You too can table the motion of whether or not to become a furniture mover in order to effect a power play in your hotel room. Become the chairperson of your power trip on your own ac-cord! Simply report to the Bureau of Furniture Movers to Plug In an Electric Device at the Moving Furniture to plug in my laptop thread, but do not be shocked to find other FlyerTalk members current-ly in similar situations.
Hopefully you will find an outlet for your frustrations regarding this issue.

Travel Journal School Project: Your Assistance is Requested
This is a favor for the niece of FlyerTalk member flygirl555, whom I will quote directly from the 2007-2008 Travel Journal for School Project - Can you help? thread:
"My niece, who is in the 4th grade, has an interesting school assignment. To learn about world geography, each student created a "travel journal" to send to friends and family.
Upon receiving the journal, the recipient is requested to send a postcard or small souvenir to the child (c/o the classroom) and write a short paragraph about their hometown. In late April (or when the travel journal is full - whichever comes first), the travel journal should be returned to the class so all the students can read all the stories and track where the journal has been. As each postcard arrives, they will put push-pins in a map.
Since we love to travel, she is starting the journal with us...
I know it would be exciting for her if her journal traveled to the most exotic places. It would also be fun for our community too - if we could use this thread to track the journal as it makes it's way around the world once or twice or more...
To receive the journal, please post a message below (so we can track where the journal is going next) and pm the person above with your contact information so they will know where to send the journal upon receipt.
Thanks, in advance, for your help with this project!
Happy travels travel journal!"

Singapore Airlines A380
The auction for seats on the inaugural flights is well underway and some FTers will be onboard (sadly I won't be, boo hoo).
Now more information is coming to light about a new booking class for first on the A380 flights and the implications for the *A products, and a fairly hefty fare surcharge.

How Many FlyerTalk Members Lost Their Pants Over This Promotion?
Simply buy US$125.00 worth of trousers to get a free round-trip airline ticket?
Can this promotion really be that simple?!?
Once you read all of the restrictions regarding this promotion in the $125 Dockers = free roundtrip ticket thread, as well as the problems some FlyerTalk members are encountering after participating in the promotion, you just might consider yourself lucky you did not participate in the promotion yourself.

A Gathering of FlyerTalk Members Whose Passions are Travel and Photography?
Can you picture this happening?
What a photo opportunity this would be!
Will this idea eventually click, or will it just wash?
Instead of being negative about the possibility of this happening, let us see what develops in the Travel and Photography DO? thread to get the full depth of field of this discussion.
Hopefully having this posted here will give the idea some additional exposure.

What if United Airlines Eliminated Its Upgrade Program>
FlyerTalk member UNITED959 - as well as many other United Mileage Plus forum FlyerTalk members - speculate on this scenario in the What do you REALLY think would happen if UA canned its upgrade program? thread, which is currently one of the most popular threads currently in the United Mileage Plus forum.
So, what if United Airlines decided to eliminate its upgrade program? What do you think would happen? How would you feel about it? Should they do it?

Passport Laundering?
No, this is not a crime - at least, I do not believe that it is a crime.
Having one's passport washed apparently happens to more people than one would think.

How Dare You Call Me "My Love"? I Don't Want to Talk to You or Even Look at You!!!
In a perfect world, meeting a fellow FlyerTalk member should be a pleasant and joyous experience.
Unfortunately, that is not always the case, as documented by the Dissed by a FTer! thread.
Now please go read the thread, and don't talk to me. Just keep your dissed-tance...

Until We Meet Again, My Love..
...you may want to read about how FlyerTalk members cope with Long Distance Relationships...
...and while you read that thread, biding the time until we see each other again, can you guess what the longest distance relationship may be in terms of distance, and between which two countries?
I am booking our tickets now, sweetheart, because I really need to re-qualify for status next year as well as the miles and points ...
...oh, yeah - and so that we may see each other again soon. Yeah. That's it...

Pam Ann Flies Around the World!
...no, not Pan Am, as in the now-defunct original Pan American airlines.
Pam Ann, as in a comedienne who apparently has a passion for humour pertaining to the airline industry.
Who is Pam Ann, you ask?
Find out here in the Pam Ann - One World Alliance thread.
One thing is for certain, though: we are talking about the wings of woman here, not the Wings of Man.
