« Double miles from Alaska Airlines | Main | Credit where credit is due »

December 30, 2003

Hurry - short window of opportunity

1-800-Flowers.com is offering 100 miles per dollar spent on flowers. In other words, if you spend $400, you earn enough miles for a domestic first class ticket -- and you have $400 worth of flowers.

The meat of the offer:

As a DeltaŽ SkyMiles member send a gift now and you can earn 3000 Delta SkyMiles. Just enter during checkout promotion code DEL and your SkyMiles membership number to earn 3000 miles** on a minimum purchase of $29.99,* plus 1000 miles for every additional $10 spent.

Hurry! This offer ends December 31, 2003 at midnight!

A couple of key items.
  • Be sure to use the correct promotion code DEL and enter your Delta Skymiles number

  • The miles are awarded based on spending increments of $10. So spending $38 only gets you 3000 miles, while spending $40 gets you 4000 miles.

  • Miles aren't awarded on shipping, tax, etc.
The offer expires at midnight, December 31st. And since 1-800-Flowers is in New York (at least their executive offices are), I assume that's midnight eastern time.

I don't like the fact that I have only a day to work on this offer. I just came across it on Flyertalk and my contact at 1-800-Flowers has already gone home for the day. I'm hoping he's in the office in the morning and will get back to me with any hidden issues or problems with taking huge advantage of this offer, though I don't see any myself.

If he doesn't get back to me with the go ahead (which I'll post here), I'm going to place my orders over the phone and have the service rep on the phone note that I've been promised the miles per the promo code above, just in case.
